What does Liaison mean to us
Webster defines liaison as a person who helps groups to work together and provide information to each other; a person who establishes and maintains communication for mutual understanding and cooperation. It is synonymous with affinity, association, connection, and linkage.
Liaison derives from the Middle French lier, meaning “to bind or tie,” and is related to the English word liable (Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, 1999).
At Liaison, these words hold great value as we seek to form a meaningful working relationship with our families. Education is a lifelong journey; one that includes family members and stakeholders alike. Selecting the correct learning environment can be puzzling. Once a person uncovers and identifies neurodivergence, the selection process becomes even more crucial. As such, it is our intent to help parents and students to find the right fit – one that should allow an individual to grow, evolve, and flourish. Moreover, it is our aim to assist families in selecting an institution that provides dynamic and reliable support services to ensure success. Most importantly, a neurodiverse-affirming place of learning.
Pascale Rivard Fitts
As founder and Senior Educational Counselor at Liaison, Pascale considers it an honor to work alongside families as they search for the perfect “school home” for their son or daughter. She is deeply passionate about advocating for those who seek academic support. Pascale experienced this as a parent and understands the importance of having a liaison, someone who will wholeheartedly embark on the educational journey with a family. Moreover, she embraces the college admissions process. Particularly, she truly enjoys witnessing students engage in self-discovery as she assists them with essay writing and resume building.
Helping neurotypical and neurodivergent students thrive and succeed in their academic pursuits is a tremendous blessing as it satisfies her passion for both education and diversity. Pascale considers her involvement in crafting a private Special Education program her greatest professional achievement. Serving in the program from the time of inception gave Pascale rare insight. As a Learning Specialist, and ultimately, Program Director, Pascale supported hundreds of families by being a liaison for all stakeholders: parent/teacher, student/teacher, parent/administrator, and student/administrator relationships. She witnessed countless triumphant stories including her own child’s victories. To that end, she is thrilled to continue to serve families in the capacity of an independent educational consultant.
Pascale received her B.A. from Auburn University with a double major in Spanish and Communications, along with a double minor in French and Business. She completed her M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning: Special Education, with Highest Distinction, from Liberty University. She was born and raised in the province of Québec, Canada. Moving to a new country, and facing a language barrier which hindered her learning process, Pascale developed an affinity for students who experience learning obstacles.
She and her husband currently live in Cary, North Carolina; their daughter, son, and his wife are now young working professionals. As a family, they are foodies who enjoy traveling, as well as watching and participating in various sports. Pascale is an admirer of the world – God’s creation – especially through her camera lens. Photography, home décor, and event planning are Pascale’s creative outlets. ~Romans 10:12~

Her career as an educator spans over 25 years. She taught all grade levels, including preschool. Her experience encompasses a wide array of positions. In these roles, she was able to interact with students in a variety of settings, getting to know them inside and outside of the classroom. Additionally, her aim consistently remained to partner with families and collaborate with all stakeholders.
